Your brief: precision engineering, West Midlands, £1m–£5m turnover, owner-managed.
A shortlist of matching UK companies, each with the reasons it fits and what is still unknown.
Which to save, research further or set aside.
Why Apex fits: sector matches · registered office in your region · filed turnover £2.4m (filed accounts, year to March) · company active on the register.
Still unknown: EBITDA is not stated in the filed accounts; no verified direct contact for the owner yet.
Matching your brief does not mean the owner wants to sell. Succession indicators are signals, never proof of intent.
The accounts or information memorandum (the seller’s sales pack) for Apex.
The key figures with page references, and an assessment that answers three questions.
Whether the business is worth pursuing and at what price.
Estimated business cash left after loan repayments, before your own salary or drawings. Not your personal take-home.
Enterprise value (debt-free, cash-free) that still meets a 25% return target on the assumptions shown. Changes if they change.
Largest customer is 42% of sales (stated in the memorandum, p.14). Owner’s salary not confirmed. Lease end date missing.
Sources & assumptions: turnover £2.4m and adjusted EBITDA £480k (memorandum, p.9); 3.5x senior debt at 8%; 5-year hold. Every figure is labelled filed, stated or estimated.
The price and funding scenario you want to test.
A deal workspace holding the scenario, diligence questions, document requests and the next action.
Whether to make an offer, ask for more, or walk away.
£1.75m enterprise value: £1.05m bank loan, £350k deferred to the seller over 2 years, £350k your equity. An indicative model, not lender approval.
- Contract terms with the 42% customer
- Owner’s true salary and duties
- Property lease end date
- Management accounts, last 12 months · requested
- Customer contracts · outstanding
- Signed NDA · complete
Review the drafted indicative offer letter. Nothing is sent to the seller until you approve it.

Questions
Straight answers.
What does the free target list include?
10 UK companies that match the sectors, regions and turnover band you choose, with figures from public records where available. It is free and needs no card.
Are the targets necessarily for sale?
No. A match means the company fits your criteria. Whether the owner would sell is something you find out by approaching them.
Where does the financial information come from?
Public registers such as Companies House, company websites, documents you upload and licensed data. Every figure is labelled filed, stated by a seller or estimated, with its source. Valuations are calculated by TrueValue’s engines, not written by the AI.
What can the AI do independently, and what needs my approval?
It can find and score companies, research them, draft profiles and letters, build diligence checklists, run valuations and create tasks, each logged. It will not email or write to anyone, share a document, send something for signature or make an offer without your approval.
What is the difference between Solo and Deal Team?
Solo is for one buyer: one user, up to 10 new qualified targets a day. Deal Team adds unlimited internal users, up to 50 targets a day, more research and owner lookups, and all eight AI deal team roles.
How does billing work?
